NMN Flexible Laminate (DyTerm)

The flexible laminate DyTerm NMN – acronym Mylar Nomex Nomex®- is made from a polyester film coated PETP both sides with Nomex meta-aramid paper. The polyester film provides good electrical insulation while Nomex® provides excellent tear resistance, resin absorption and thermal insulation.

The ratio of the different materials is expressed in mils (1 mil = 25.4 microns). For example the NMN (2/3/2) comprises 2 mil Nomex, Mylar 3000 and 2000 Nomex.

Depending on the thickness of the paper layer laminated Nomex three families defined. The usual and most used family is 50 microns thick (N2, 2thousand). For demanding applications where it is required to increase the thermal insulation layer 80 .mu.m passes Nomex (N3, 3000). Finally for less intensive applications where premium performance can be used layers of Nomex paper of only 37 microns thick (N1, 1500) with complete assurance.

Description

Applications:

The DyTerm NMN is distinguished by high mechanical, especially tear dielectric properties, and high heat resistance. Suitable material for high temperature applications in electric motors and generators as slot insulation between phase insulation or thermal class F and H
